Chapter 1

Maya's POV

"You're gorgeous. Your beauty is villainess level 99 novel updatesirresistible . Would you mind if I joined you, beautiful?” His voice was soothing, tickling my ear, but I had no idea who he was because my head was bent low at customer service.

I was already a little buzzed from the whiskey I had been drinking. I raised my head to see him; my eyes gazed at him, but I couldn’t figure out what his face looked like because he was wearing a mask.

The waitress walked close to me. “Do you care for more drinks, ma’am?” the waitress asked me. I didn’t respond; rather, I stared at the gentleman standing in front of me.

He was very tall; I couldn’t figure out anything else apart from his height.

“Ma'am, are you okay with that?” the waitress continued to ask.

“Get that sent to VIP,” he responded to the waitress, who stood watching with dismay.

The club was buzzing with excitement, and the air was filled with laughter and enchanting music.

“Miss beautiful, join me in the VIP; it’s more intimate. We will get to know each other well,” he said, but I didn’t say more words to him because right now, I’m not in the mood for much talk.

I stood up and twirled to the music; it was one of my favorite artists.

I left him and went to the dancing stage.

I was standing at the dancing stage, waiting for him to join me. Amidst the lively crowd, I suddenly lost sight of him.

I was dancing, forgetting all my worries, and making uproarious laughter.

It feels good to be here. After a while, I felt like the club had become so jam-packed that it was easy to bump into someone, which I didn’t want to.

Feeling a little flustered, I decided to take a break and stepped outside onto the glittering terrace.

As I leaned on the balcony, gazing at the starry night sky, melancholy started to set in. I couldn't shake off the feeling of loneliness that engulfed my heart.

Tears welled up in my eyes. “I’m fired.” Tears were still dripping from my eyes, and my shoulders slumped. That's when I heard a voice beside me; it sounded like the gentleman I met inside a while ago.

“Hey there, what's got you down?" His voice was deep and soothing, and it sent shivers down my spine. But the mask that covered his whole face didn't allow me to see how handsome he was.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you who I am,” he smirked, but who cares about you? I thought. “Well, I’m Anton. I just need some company at the VIP,” he said.

"You can join me here, Anton, and watch the sky.” I didn’t sound friendly to him; I guess that would scare him away.

But then he took my hand and kissed it. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks as Anton took my hand and placed a gentle kiss on it.

"You're incredibly beautiful," he said. I felt a bit flustered. "And I'd be delighted to dance with you." I nodded my head; he took my hand in his and squeezed it.

We made our way to the dance floor. I put my hand on his shoulder while he put his on my waist.

I shivered at the slightest touch of his hand on my waist. The music was soft and romantic, and as we swayed together, I could feel a spark of electricity between us.

"I have been watching you from afar. I noticed how beautiful you are, and I said to myself, D*mn, you are so pretty. I couldn’t take my eyes off you.” I smiled softly as he whispered sweet nothings in my ear.

It made me feel sensations around my body. I couldn’t bring myself to fall for a man I barely knew.

"You must think I'm a creep," his finger tickled my neck.

My heart skipped a beat. I smiled, tinged with nervousness.

"But I just wanted to say that your eyes have a sparkle that is truly mesmerizing. You are beautiful." I was taken aback by his words, and I felt my cheeks flush with warmth.

"I... I don't know what to say," I stammered. He laughed softly.

"You don't have to say anything. Just know that I meant every word." His hand rubbed my skin, and I felt a pleasant sensation around my body. I could see myself falling for a man, but I didn’t know how his face looked because of the mask he had on. I couldn’t tell if I had seen him somewhere.

Hearing his soothing voice, I thought I was falling, and I didn’t want to bring myself to do it. But then, it felt as if time had stopped, and the only thing that mattered to me right now was this dance.

He hugged me so tightly that I couldn’t gasp for air.

"I want you tonight," he whispered softly. I felt my heart burning with strong desire.

At that moment, I blinked my eyes closed, still with him hugging me so tight.

I was savoring the moment and wishing it could always be like that. I remember what my mother always said to me when she was alive:

"A moment is just that, a moment." Her voice kept ringing in my ear, as if she were right beside me. Reluctantly, I pulled away from him. "Thanks for the dance," I said. My heart was still racing as I turned to leave. He held my hand, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through me as his hand touched mine. I turned to face him, unsure of what to say.

He looked into my eyes and smiled.

"I couldn't let you leave without saying one last thing," he said.

I could feel my heart pounding as I waited for him to continue.

"You've made quite an impression on me," he said.

"I would love to see you. Spend the night with me if you would be willing." My mouth felt dry, and I could barely get the words out. I froze, taken aback by his words. I was surprised by the suggestion, but I couldn't deny that it was tempting.

I looked into his eyes, trying to gauge his intentions.

"Are you sure?" I asked, my voice wavering slightly.

"Absolutely," he replied, his gaze unwavering.

"I know it's a lot to ask, but I just can't help myself." I hesitated, torn between my desire and my apprehension.

“You are fired, Miss Maya.” Those words hit me like a bomb: I didn’t want to stay alone tonight. I would do nothing but stay sober throughout the whole night. I guess it isn’t bad to spend the night with him. "Will you spend the night with me, miss?" He whispered softly, and I felt a rush of emotion wash over me.

"Yes, I will." I couldn't believe my response, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to follow through with it.

All I knew was that I needed to release the tension that had been building up inside of me. I felt like a pressure cooker about to explode. I could feel my heart racing. He paused for what felt like an eternity, then said, "Sure, let's go." He took me by the hand, and we stepped out of the club. I was shaking with anticipation, and I could barely breathe. My heart was pounding so hard that I thought it would jump out of my chest as we walked directly to the VIP.
